Plot: It is a 1989 Hong Kong action comedy-drama film written and directed by Wong Jing, and featuring an ensemble cast.Do San (the God of gamblers) is a legendary gambler helped by his supernatural abilities. He undertakes to help a friend pay a debt by beating his friend’s advisory at the card table. Despite being assigned a bodyguard Do San has a freak accident which leaves him with partial memory loss and at a mental stage of a child. The small time hustler Knife, his side-kick and his girl friend, being responsible for the accident takes care of the retarded Do San. After some time they discover that he has not lost all of his powers and takes him on a round at the local gambling halls. After being chased by both Knife’s loan-shark and enemies closer to the home of Do San, a final showdown at the card tables may take place.

God Of Gamblers II (1991)
Plot: It is a 1991 Hong Kong comedy film written and directed by Wong Jing. It stars Andy Lau as Little Knife, Stephen Chow as the Saint of Gamblers, and Ng Man-Tat as Blackie Tat. This movie is a sequel to both God of Gamblers, which included Lau’s character, and to All for the Winner, which starred Chow and Ng. This film should not be confused with God of Gamblers Returns, also released as God of Gamblers 2, and in essence the true sequel to the original God of Gamblers.
In this movie, down on his luck, Chow Sing-Cho (Stephen Chow), seeks out the God of Gamblers, in hopes of becoming his disciple. Unfortunately, the God of Gamblers is unreachable and out of the country, last heard to be in Brazil, and the Knight of Gamblers (Andy Lau) replaces the God of Gamblers. When a phony attempts to impersonate the Knight of Gamblers in a huge scam, it’s up to the real Knight and Saint of Gamblers to team up and defeat their formidable challenger. The film combines intricate action sequences with sharp comedic timing.
Wong Jing was so impressed with All for the Winner that he contacted Stephen Chow to star in two sequels made during 1991. This combo went on to make several money making films turning Stephen Chow into an Asian Comedy star and helping boost Jing Wong’s status as one of the top film makers in Hong Kong.
This movie is followed by God of Gamblers III: Back to Shanghai, which does not have Andy Lau, but features actress Gong Li in two roles.

God Of Gamblers III: Back To Shanghai (1991)
Plot: It is a 1991 Hong Kong comedy film, a sequel to the film God of Gamblers II. The film is directed by Wong Jing, and stars Stephen Chow and Ng Man Tat. The film does not feature the Knight of Gamblers, or the God of Gamblers. God of Gamblers III continues the story of the Saint of Gamblers (Chow).
After the events in God of Gamblers II, Tai-Kun who lost his ESP powers has regained the abilities again and seeks revenge against Sing, the Saint of Gamblers. When Tai-Kun, aided by his fellow disciples, exerts ESP powers under full force against Sing who is doing likewise to them, the spacetime becomes distorted and sends Tai-Kun and Sing to Shanghai in 1937.
Meeting his own grandfather Chow Tai Fook and the benign millionaire Ding Lik, Sing must deal with Ding Lik’s foes and the Japanese military forces, with his “mistaken” crush on one of a pair of twin sisters, find out who defeated the French “God of Gamblers”, Pierre Cashon, in that era (the mysterious “Comment allez-vous”), and finally find out how to travel back to Hong Kong in 1991.

God Of Gamblers Returns (1994)
Plot: Also known as God of Gamblers’ Return and The Return of the God of Gamblers , it is a 1994 Hong Kong action-drama-comedy film written and directed by Wong Jing. It starred Chow Yun-fat, Wu Chien-Lien, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Chingmy Yau, Cheung Man, and Charles Heung. Not to be confused with the 1991 God of Gamblers II, also directed by Wong Jing.
Chow returns to play Ko Chun, his character from God of Gamblers, a skilled gambler who now lives in retirement in France. Wu Xingguo plays an evil gangster who forces Ko out of retirement by killing his pregnant wife. Ko is forced to team up with a variety of other people to win out in the end. Wu Chien-lien plays Chow’s romantic interest, Chingmy Yau plays a Taiwanese femme fatale, and Tony Leung provides much of the humor.
